U14 Youth Team Match Report
Broadstone Colts Vs Purbeck Panthers Colts
Sunday 6th January 2008
Result : 9-2 (Loss)
Scorers: Sam Hall, Sam Loveless
Manager: Graham Loveless
FA Level 1 Football Coach

With only 11 fit players this was always going to be difficult...and so it proved with Broadstone scoring within 2 minutes (a rare error from Chris Bennett gifting them the goal). This was quickly followed by a second.. 3 minutes gone and already 2-0 down. But a spirited performance and some good luck the score stayed like that until the 19th minute when Sam Hall got the Colts on the scoresheet...2-1. It stayed that way until Half-Time.

Half-Time 2-1

Shortly after the start of the second half the Colts win a free kick on the left wing and Sam Loveless curls the ball into the top of the goal...2-2. The Colts had chances to take the lead but the goalposts just seem to keep getting in the way. Broadstone should have scored a few also but kept firing over the bar. Then in the 12th minute Broadstone finally get their 3rd and in the next 6 minutes another 3....6-2. It looks over for the Colts and it was as Broadstone svcore another 3 unanswered goals to win the match 9-2.

The were some good performances from the Colts...Chris in Goal, William and Ryan in defence, Chris and Josh in Midfield and some unselfish running in attack from Sam Hall. But only one person can win.............
Man of the Match = Ryan Green

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Purbeck Panthers Colts Vs Wessex Eagles
Sunday 11th November 2007

Well this performance does not really deserve a match report. Apart from the first couple of minutes when the team were playing as a team, there is just nothing good to say. The Colts had their chances, but again squandered chances lose games.
9 minutes into the match and Wessex score their first, 4 minutes later the 2nd...then the 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Half-Time 0-5

3 minutes after the start and Wessex score their 6th...finally Sam Hall goes on a run and chips the keeper...1-6...Is there a chance...no... Sam Hall then shoots wide. The Colts Midfield and Defence are in tatters and in the next 25 minutes Wessex score on almost every attack.
There were a couple of highlights to mention. William Loveless made a couple of good runs from defence into the opposing half, but the chances were squandered. Josh Eastwood had a good free kick from outside the box which hits the woodwork. But overall a lacklustre performance which deserved the thrashing they got. I feel really sorry for Chris in goal having to pick the ball from the net 15 times, but if not for him it would have been a lot more. So obviously

Man of the Match = Chris Bennett

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Gillingham Town Vs Purbeck Panthers Colts
Sunday 21st Oct 2007
Result: 10-2
Scorers: Sam Hall, Josh Eastwood

Down to earth with a bump, the Colts lose their first league match, and in style.
The first half was very even and the Colts should have scored in the 8th minute when they were awarded a penalty, up steps Sam L and hits the upright. In the 12th minute Gillingham get their first, they should have scored more but the Colts hold on and then in the 26th minute Gillingham get their 2nd. The score stays that way until Half-Time.

Half-Time 2-0

Early in the 2nd half the Colts concede again...3-0...then 4-0...then Sam Hall finally breeches the Gillingham defence...4-1. There is some hope, but the Colts cannot get the ball out of their own half, Suddenly the concede again...5-1. The Colts hold on for the next 10 minutes and Sam L is fouled badly on the right and has injured his neck, he comes off and Sam Hussey replaces him. Josh E takes the free kick, goes for goal and scores a wonderful goal...5-2. 10 minutes to go...the worst 10 minutes of the game for the Colts, the defence just cannot seem to get the ball clear and concede 5 goals in the last 9 minutes. But this team will end up with quite a few bookings this season as they are the most physical team I have seen in the league, but maybe the Colts need to harden up and be more physical also.
Final score 10-2.

Not many player performances to rave on about, but Josh E and Ryan G deserve a mention.
Man of the Match for some wonderful saves: Chris Bennett.

U9 Mini Team Match Report
Weymouth Colts 2 Purbeck Panthers 3
Sunday 21st October 07

We were away to Weymouth Colts. Due to the half term school holidays we were a little under strength with only an eight man squad.
Colts won the toss and opted to take the kick off. The game started at a great pace, all the tackles were hard but our team was equal in their response. Marcus in goal had to deal with some early skirmishes, but despite a cut on the knee from an opponent’s stud, managed to collect the ball. After some good passing Harrison got the ball out side Colts box and swiftly shot the ball into the back of the net. Colts responded with some verve and despite some good clearances by Panthers centre back Ashley, they managed to equalize.
The game carried on at such a pace even the ref. was looking exhausted. With solid defending from one of our new boys Austin and constant hassling in the midfield by another one of our new boys Stephen, the ball again reached the feet of Harrison and with good skill, he managed to go past a few of the Colts defense, he crossed the ball. It looked liked the ball was going behind the goal, but much to everyone’s surprise ended up bouncing along the back of the net, 2-1 to Panthers.

The second half started off as the first finished, many hard fought tackles made by both teams but Colts won another battle in our goal and despite a gallant effort from Marcus who took a shot in the face, couldn’t stop the equalizer.
Panthers held the fight in their half for a while with some good solid defending; Ashley, Callum and Joe kept the ball out of the goal area. With most of the Colts in Panthers half, Harrison and Connal ushered the ball up the Colts end. Stephen battled with their defense and slotted it passed the goal keeper to score his first goal for the team, the wining goal, which put an end to another closely fought game, this time in Panthers favour.

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Broadstone Colts Vs Purbeck Panthers Colts (County Cup Rd1)
Sunday 14th November 2007
Result: 1-2
Scorers: Sam Loveless, Josh Eastwood

Well that was the first Cup Match that the Colts have won, and they thoroughly deserved the win.
From the start the Colts were hungry for the ball and should have scored early on. In the 11th minute William takes the ball out from defence and after a good run down the left passes to Sam L who fires it over the top. More chances were spurned before in the 20th minute Josh heads on a free kick and Sam L runs on to score the first goal. The Colts now have hope and it is only a minute later when Josh latches on to a high ball and volleys it into the net. 2-0 to the colts. The Colts defence start to look ragged and just before half time a ball which should have been cleared falls to the opposition and Chris Bennett is finally beaten.

Half Time 1-2

The second half was a bit of a scrappy affair from both sides...chances were missed by both teams, but even being unbiased the Colts should have won this one by a more comfortable margin. A few good performances to mention: Chris Bennett in goal, William Loveless in defence, Sam Hussey in midfield, but only one good enough to win:-
Man of the Match: Jack Reynard

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Sunday 7th October 2007
Home Vs Ferndown Sports
Result 2-2

Well definately 2 points dropped, but it means the Colts are still unbeaten. The Colts should have put this game to bed in the first half. Sam looking for another hat-trick was trying too hard. It took 15 minutes to get on the score sheet. From good work down the right Chris Budge puts a ball into the area and Robbie Spivey scores...1-0. after a hatfull of missed chances it was good work on the right again from Jack Reynard and Chris Budge on 26 minutes when Josh Eastwood beats his man and scores Colts 2nd...2-0. It stayed like that until half-time.

The second half like the first was a game of missed chances, but not for Ferndown, 5 minutes in and an offside which was not flagged, the defence at 6's and 7's...2-1. Sam and Josh had chances, but on 65 minutes the defence again fell to pieces and Ferndown get the equaliser...2-2. And thats how the game ended.
Good performances from Jack Reynard, William Loveless, Chris Stickland and Thomas Harvey. But Man of the Match goes to Robbie Spivey.

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Weymouth Victoria Royals Vs Purbeck Panthers Colts
Sunday September 30th 2007

On paper this looked like a comfortable win for the Colts, and as the game started it looked that way, with Christopher Budge scoring in the first attack. Our midfield looked good this week with Spivey, Stickland, Hussey and Budge playing well and at last putting some balls through for the 2 x Sam's to run onto...unfortunately the opposition linesman had a severe bout of flagging us offside for every move. Eventually Sam hall managed to beat the linesman and score the Colts second. No long after our top scorer Sam Loveless did manage to get on the scoresheet.

Halftime 3-0 to the Colts.

Once again the second half let us down and weymouth did manage to breach the defence and the keeper twice. Now 3-2 to the Colts...but Sam Loveless finally found his form and 2 goals followed. There were a few chances missed but in the end a comfotable win to the Colts 5-2. 3 games unbeaten, the best start to a season we have had.
Scorers: Sam Loveless x 3 (3 games 3 hatricks) Chris Budge and Sam Hall 1 each.
Man of the match: Chris Budge

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Sunday 16th September 2007 - Home to Broadstone Colts
Manager: Graham Loveless
FA Level 1 Football Coach

Another frustrating game where the result could have gone either way. In the end I think that we rode our luck and managed to scrape another draw. We won the toss and decided to play down hill with the breeze behind us, this should have been an advantage for us. But with the Panthers having a makeshift back 4 we conceeded a goal in the 9th minute. No one could hold the ball long enough to get any moves going and then in the 20th minute the Panthers defense was breached again...2-0, this seemed to spur the Panthers into playing some football, on 22 minutes...GOAL...Sam Loveless gets his and Panthers first of the day. Broadstone kept running in force at the Panthers defense and only fantastic keeping by Chris Bennett managed to keep the score at 2-1...but then just before Half-Time Broadstone get their 3rd.

Half-Time 3-1.

2nd Half and panthers need to start playing some decent football to get anything from this game. Still Broadstone kept breaching the defense, but last ditch tackles from William and Adam and some wonderful saves from Chris kept them out. In the 12th minute of the second half Sam Loveless pops up again to score his and the Panthers 2nd goal (2-3), Josh Eastwood has a couple of decent chances which were just off target, and with the Panthers defense and goalie managing to keep Broadstone out, That boy Sam Loveless runs down the left and delicately chips the keeper for his 2nd hatrick in as many weeks (3-3). 15 minutes to go and the Panthers goal should have been breached several times...but we manage to hold on for a draw. Broadstone feel robbed, but that is the game somedays. Man of the match was awarded to Sam Loveless (again) but I feel that Chris Bennett deserves a mention for his outstanding goalkeeping.

U14 Youth Team Match Report
Sunday 9th Setember 2007 away to Weymouth Diamonds.
Manager: Graham Loveless
FA Level 1 Football Coach

Result: 5-5 Draw
Scorers: Sam Loveless 3, Robbie Spivey 2

After a very lively start the Colts took a very early lead through Sam Loveless with some good work from the Midfield players. With the defence holding firm the colts won a free kick, Josh Eastwood put the resulting free kick over the Diamonds defence and Sam Loveless ran onto it to score his second goal. At this stage in the game the colts were rampant and could have scores a third after Sam Hall had beaten the defence rounded the keeper only to put it wide of an empty net. Soon after Sam Loveless scored his hatrick and it looked like the Colts were going to score a hatfull. After a lapse in concentration the colts defense finally conceeded a goal. Soon after following a scappy melee in the Diamonds penalty area up pops Robbie Spivey to rifle the ball into the roof of the net.

Half-Time 1-4.

This was definately a game of 2 halves. The Colts just could not string together any decent passes in the second half and following a couple of bad knocks to Colts players the Diamonds came back strong and scored 4 unanswered goals. Time was running out and the Colts were losing 5-4, the Colts were pushing for the equaliser, whilst still trying to hold firm in defense. Sam Hall had to come off due to an injury, William Loveless was pushed up to attack leaving only 3 in defense...seconds left on the clock and the Colts win a throw in...and again...and again...this time the ball gets into the Diamonds penalty area and after a couple of snatched attempts at goal up pops Robbie again to level the match...there goes the whistle and a good fighting point was earned. Man of the Match - Sam Loveless With the Managers deciding vote after 3 votes each for Sam and William Loveless (who deserves a mention after another outstanding performance in defense.
